Covid-19: Emirates asking passengers to provide negative tests before flying

An airline flying to New Zealand is asking passengers to provide a negative test before boarding for some destinations.

Testing before flying has become a political football in NZ, after the National Party adopted it as a policy it would enact if it were to become government.

Some say the testing will be effective in preventing people from contracting the virus before arriving in NZ.

Emirates was the first airline to pre-test passengers for Covid-19, and the regional manager for Emirates New Zealand, Chris Lethbridge, speaks to Susie Ferguson.
