Covid-19: Suggestions birth rate could drop due to pandemic

Many predicted a lockdown lovefest would lead to a Covid-19 baby boom, but now obstetricians are predicting the exact opposite - declining birth rates.

In Australia, the social economic conditions of the pandemic have led potential parents to make different decisions - and are pointing towards a demographic disaster.

Professor Paul Spoonley says he'd be suprised if New Zealand's births do not decline too.

He speaks to Corin Dann.
