The National Party wants Parliament's Health Select Committee to be reconvened saying Dr Ashley Bloomfield has questions to answer.
Dr Shane Reti - the party's health spokesperson - has written to the Chair of the Committee Louisa Wall making the case to recall the committee as parliament has not been dissolved.
He argues the second wave of Covid-19 is a serious event that requires a measured and well-thought-out response.
