Covid-19: Chris Hipkins on serology testing

From Morning Report, 7:14 am on 19 August 2020

Health Minister Chris Hipkins is facing a puzzle trying to work out how Covid-19 made its way back into the community in Auckland.

First a group of four tested positive with no link to international travel or the border, then a maintenance worker tested positive for the virus, without ever having met the person he supposedly caught it off.

Hipkins told Morning Report serology testing was being used to try and solve the puzzle in regards to Auckland's newest cluster, but he is not sure whether it is being used in the case of the maintenance worker.

He speaks to Susie Ferguson.
