The Bay of Plenty DHB is confident that testing of all 6000 workers at the Port of Tauranga will be completed by the end of the week.
Testing got underway at midday yesterday, with priority going to port workers who have been on-board a vessel in the last 14 days or have been in contact with crew.
It's part of a wider push to test all frontline border staff, including those working at airports and and ports.
Joe Bourne is the Bay of Plenty DHB incident controller.
