Funeral directors in Auckland say they don't know what to tell whanau who are expecting a loved one to die or have a planned funeral or tangihanga service over the weekend.
Under Alert Level 3 only 10 people can be present at a funeral home or service at any one time.
With no way of knowing if the lockdown period will be extended beyond Friday, many whanau still don't know if they will be able to gather in large groups to mourn their dead.
