A new service is open to help connect everyone seeking and offering employment and training.

The service can be accessed online, by phone or on site at government hubs.

It aims to help people find a job, find staff, train or retrain and find business support.

Carmel Sepuloni, Minister for Social Development, told Morning Report the New Zealand economy is performing well, but the government is still prepared for whatever happens.

"We haven't experienced the economic drops that had been forecast, but we have to brace ourselves," she said.
