A bill that increases security and stability for tenants passed its final reading in Parliament last night.
The Residential Tenancies Amendment Bill does away with 90 day no-cause terminations, removes rental bidding, and allows landlords to increase rents only once every 12 months.

The National Party has dubbed the bill the "I Hate Landlords" bill - and is warning it will have the unintended consequence of driving up rents.
