Business leaders want privately run managed isolation

Privately run managed isolation could be a reality early next year - if business leaders can drum up a suitable plan and convince the government.

More than 200 business leaders gathered in Auckland yesterday to thrash out a Covid-19 recovery plan.

Economic forecasts show the region could lose 50,000 jobs and 6 percent growth. Mind Lab founder and chief executive of Tech Future Lab, Frances Valentine, was among panellists talking about the city's future.

She told Amy Williams there are opportunities to be tapped to help create jobs for those who are returning to the country from overseas - and those made redundant.
