From Morning Report, 7:26 am on 4 August 2020

It comes a week after New Zealand suspended its extradition treaty with Hong Kong after the passage of a new security law which gives China sweeping powers in the city.

At the time, China called New Zealand's decision a " a gross interference in China's internal affairs".

Here to help us make sense of this diplomatic tête-à-tête is Robert Patman, a professor of International Relations at Otago University.
