Poll sees National Party drop 6 percent, but Judith Collins is still smiling

From Morning Report, 7:15 am on 31 July 2020

The latest political poll has done little to boost National's confidence just seven weeks out from an election.

The National Party has dropped six points to 32 in the One News Colmar Brunton poll, while The Labour Party's star continues to rise - up three points to 53, meaning the party could govern alone.

In terms of seats in Parliament, National would only win 41, which would leave 13 National MPs out in the cold come 19 September.

Leader Judith Collins is looking on the bright side of life, and says there's a lot of acknowledgement the party has had a rough few weeks and this poll is a positive start.
