Ex-China ambassador on extradition treaty suspension

New Zealand has suspended its extradition treaty with Hong Kong in response to China's new national security law for the territory, saying the territory's judicial system is now not independent enough from mainland China.

China has told New Zealand to immediately stop interfering in its internal matters, or risk further harming the relationship.
