Kristine Bartlett on pay equity law passing

Last night MPs passed the pay equity law that makes it easier for women to be paid the same as men even if they work in different industries.

Employers are already required to pay employees in the same workplace equally regardless of gender.

This new law enables lawmakers to compare female and male-dominated workforces to decide fair pay across the board.

Susie Ferguson speaks to Kristine Bartlett, who fought a long battle against rest home company TerraNova to secure a $2 billion pay equity settlement for caregivers.
