A government-funded programme promoting tourism as a career option is going ahead even though the sector is expecting a hundred thousand job losses this year.
The Go with Tourism campaign which is targeting high school students comes just as the government is slashing funding for tourism courses next year.
The programme's director, Matt Stenton, isn't apologetic. he spoke to RNZ reporter Katie Todd.
