NZ could host international rugby tournament

New Zealand could host a multi-country rugby tournament, pending government sign-off that it will be safe.

Competition managers Sanzaar have been working on a hub to host the All Blacks, South Africa, Australia and Argentina due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Sports minister Grant Robertson says the government is open to the idea, but it will need to ensure facilities are available so players can isolate and train when they arrive in the country.

The chief executive of the New Zealand Rugby Union, Mark Robinson, says it's very positive news for the country but there is a lot of detail to be worked through.
