One year since Cricket World Cup final loss

From Morning Report, 7:56 am on 14 July 2020

New Zealand lost the Cricket World Cup Final in the cruelest of circumstances one year ago on Tuesday.

England, the hosts, needed 15 runs off the final over to win, and with the help of a wicked deflection and an umpiring error, they scrapped a draw.

In the resulting Super Over the teams tied again, but England were awarded the trophy because they scored more boundaries during the game.

Gary Stead is the Black Caps head coach.
