The man behind the Christchurch mosque shootings will represent himself in court.

The killer appeared via video link in the High Court in Christchurch on Monday, where it was revealed he's fired his lawyers and will represent himself at sentencing next month.

He has pleaded guilty to 51 counts of murder, 40 of attempted murder and one charge under the Terrorism Suppression Act. He will be sentenced on 24 August.
