Canterbury's Muslim community is afraid the Christchurch mosque gunman will use his sentencing next month to spread more hate.
When the killer appeared via video link in the High Court in Christchurch on Monday, it was revealed he's fired his lawyers and will represent himself in court next month.
He has pleaded guilty to 51 counts of murder, 40 of attempted murder and one charge under the Terrorism Suppression Act. He will be sentenced on 24 August.
