Men stuck in detention in Australia awaiting deportation

From Morning Report, 6:43 am on 14 July 2020

While thirty deportees are expected to leave Australia today on a chartered flight back to New Zealand, others remain locked up with no end in sight.

Those being held at Yongah Hill detention centre in Western Australia say they have no idea when they will be freed.

Around 20 men at the facility have been protesting for six days seeking to finally fly home to New Zealand.

Last night RNZ reporter, Charlotte Cook, spoke to Sammy who has been detained at Yongah Hill for three months.
