Temporary work visas extended for six months

From Morning Report, 6:39 am on 8 July 2020

New Zealand's temporary workers have been given some breathing space to plan their next move, but it is a different story for those migrants stuck overseas.

The Minister of Immigration has used his special legislative powers to give a couple of migrant groups a six-month extension on visas, which are set to expire this year.

It covers workers with essential skills and work-to-residence visas, as well as low skilled workers on three-year visas. It doesn't extend to any other type of work visa expiring this year.
