Auckland water blasting businesses are up in arms over the region's water restrictions, saying the restrictions have killed business.
Under the current restrictions, commercial users cannot use an outdoor hose pipe to waterblast for non-essential cleaning Waterblaster Brian Edwards says that Watercare did not consult with the industry before imposing the restrictions.
Watercare chief executive Raveen Jaduram says the restrictions don't target particular businesses, only water use.
He says there was no industry association when the restrictions were being imposed, making consultation difficult.
