Donald Trump has vowed to defeat the "radical left" and protect American history in his 4 July speech.
Striking a combative tone in two speeches commemorating Independence Day, Trump said he would "fight... to preserve American way of life", while railing at "mobs" targeting historical monuments.
Trump - who has a long track record of exploiting racial tensions in America - castigated others for trying to "foment hate, discord and distrust".
