A piece of possibly unexploded ordinance turned up in Whanganui yesterday evening.
Workers at the Sarjeant art gallery, which is being redeveloped, found a cannonball while excavating the site early yesterday evening.
Because some cannonballs are explosive, the bomb squad was called in.
