From Morning Report, 6:48 am on 30 June 2020

A prominent business leader has vented his frustrations bungles at the border might delay the re-opening business needs.

A review released at the weekend found the managed isolation and quarantine system is under "extreme stress" and unable to respond to the increasing demand.

The Government has since stumped up $150 million to increase PPE use by passengers and front-line staff, as it scrambles to plug the holes.

Business New Zealand chief executive Kirk Hope told political reporter Jo Moir the border needs to open as soon as possible, but the controls at the border aren't up to par.
