Cabinet looking at keeping a tighter leash on new arrivals

From Morning Report, 8:13 am on 29 June 2020

Cabinet will today discuss whether people arriving in New Zealand should cover some of the cost of their stay in managed isolation.

Officials are also considering keeping a tighter leash on new arrivals, including taking away the option to exercise outside for the first three days of isolation.

That's according to the man now overseeing it all, Air Commodore Darryn Webb, whom Susie Ferguson spoke to last night following the publication of a review into New Zealand's quarantine and managed isolation systems.
