The Principals Federation say its members are increasingly worried about the level of violence in primary school classrooms.
It says it is the number one problem principals are raising.
Tim, a primary school teacher with twelve years experience, told RNZ education correspondent John Gerritsen in one case he had to deal with a violent eleven-year-old who provoked a fight in his classroom last year.
