Government not saying how many came into the country via essential worker exemption

From Morning Report, 7:21 am on 25 June 2020

The Government is refusing to say how many foreigners have come into New Zealand under the essential worker exemption.

Several hundred people have given the okay to enter the country, but the Immigration Minister does not know how many actually followed through.

Furthermore, he says it would not be a good use of his officials' time to find out.

RNZ deputy political editor Craig McCulloch compiled this report.
