No reason to panic over recent Covid-19 cases - Wiles

A specialist in infectious diseases says there's no reason to panic about the eleven cases of Covid-19 we've recorded in the last two weeks.

All of them are New Zealanders returning from overseas.

Yesterday the government unveiled its plan to toughen the regime at the border by routinely testing frontline staff who deal with the thousands of people returning from global hotspots.

Dr Siouxsie Wiles is an infectious diseases specialist from the University of Auckland.
