NZ protests call on govt to condemn US police

Organisers of the Black Lives Matter protests in New Zealand are calling on the government to condemn police violence in the US, and disarm the police in New Zealand.

They say New Zealand isn't exempt from the structural racism that's ignited demonstrations in the United States.

Thousands protested in Auckland, Wellington and Dunedin yesterday, as anger over the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police continues.

Mackenzie Smith was at the Auckland protest, and filed this report.
