Dysentry, dengue fever strike Vanuatu after Cyclone Harold

From Morning Report, 8:43 am on 1 May 2020

Outbreaks of dysentry, dengue fever and malaria have been reported in parts of Vanuatu devastated by Cyclone Harold.

The cases are in the country's north, where entire villages were flattened by winds in excess of 200km/h.

The news also comes as Pacific governments announced an array of stimulus measures this week, as global and local lockdowns due to Covid-19 decimates tourism industries.

For more on what's been going on in the region this week, Gyles Beckford speaks to RNZ Pacific's Jamie Tahana.
