KiwiSavers now need to actively choose to invest in oil, gas

The Government has changed the rules for KiwiSaver and banned default funds from investing in fossil fuels.

Default investments are assigned to people when they register for KiwiSaver- some of which invested in fossil fuel companies.

But yesterday the Government announced it's changed the rules so if you want your KiwiSaver fund to invest in oil and gas, you'll have to actively choose that option.
