Gorecki's haunting Symphony No. 3 is the soundscape for one of the first events in the 2020 New Zealand Festival of the Arts Programme, and it's one the curator Lemi Ponifasio says has taken on new meaning for him since the 15 March attacks.
Dancers from his internationally renowned company join the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra in the one night only show.
This year the festival has invited three curators to create the programme - American singer and multi-media artist Laurie Anderson and New Zealand's own Bret McKenzie are responsible for the second and third weeks.
