New Zealand First MPs will face questions about donations this morning as the party stares down a Serious Fraud Office investigation.
The Electoral Commission has been investigating the mysterious New Zealand First Foundation since reports by RNZ and Stuff late last year.
The Commission's now concluded some donations were not properly handled or declared. It referred the case to police - which promptly directed it to the SFO.
The move could have far-reaching consequences in an election year.
