Australia continues to be battered with cylcones, heatwaves, bushfires and floods this week.
A dozen fires continue to burn in Western Australia, with temperatures forecast to reach 42C today, while other parts of the state are dealing with the aftermath of a tropical cyclone that brought gusty winds of up to 200km/h.
Meanwhile on the east coast of Australia, New South Wales and Queensland faced potentially life threatening flash flooding as heavy rainfall continued for a third day.
Fire officials said the downpours have provided relief to fire ravaged areas, extinguishing about a third of the blazes in New South Wales.
