South Island by-passed in roading spend up

From Morning Report, 8:26 am on 30 January 2020

South Island roads have largely been by-passed in yesterday's big infrastructure spending announcement.

While the government is bringing forward upgrades and new roads in the North Island worth $5.3 billion, the Mainland is getting just a fraction of that amount, at just under a $250 million.

That's just four and a half percent of the total spend on roads and not a cent on new roads.
