UK election result expected for spur post-Brexit trade deal

The Conservatives' decisive victory in the British elections is expected to spur New Zealand's negotiators to work out a post-Brexit trade deal.

The re-elected Prime Minister Boris Johnson has won a commanding majority in Parliament, clearing the way for him to deliver on a promise to quit the EU by the end of January.

Charles Finny is a former trade deal negotiator.
