Moving Auckland's port a 'big decision' - Chris Hipkins

From Morning Report, 7:34 am on 26 November 2019

Former Prime Ministers Sir John Key and Helen Clark have backed plans to move Auckland's port, but current Government ministers are more hesitant.

Chris Hipkins, standing for Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern in her usual Tuesday morning slot, told Morning Report there's a lot of work to be done before moving the port could be a done deal.

"This is a very big decision and we have to carefully work through all of the economic impacts of that, all the environmental impacts of that, the flow on consequences to other areas and other parts of the economy."
