Stuart Nash says govt hit 1800 new police goal

From Morning Report, 6:15 am on 22 November 2019

The Police Minister says the government has always had two targets for adding people to the police service.

On Thursday, it ticked one of them off at a police graduation in Porirua, when the 1800th new constable was added to the service since the government took office.

But for more than two years, Stuart Nash has talked about adding 1800 extra police to the service, over and above attrition.

He tells police reporter Ben Strang that was a separate, long term plan.
