Red meat on the rise as African Swine Fever kills pork market

New Zealand sheep and beef farmers are benefitting from the misfortune befalling Chinese pig farmers.

Pork production in China has fallen sharply because of African Swine Fever, and is expected to drop as much as another 15 percent in the next year.

Rabobank's just-released Global Animal Protein Outlook 2020 says that means less protein's available on the world market, and that means higher prices for beef and lamb.
