Questions arise over out-of-school-zone enrolments

From Morning Report, 7:41 am on 13 November 2019

School zones are again in the news, this time on the back of new education reforms.

Schools will no longer set their own enrolement areas - it will be done instead by a network of regional offices set up by the Ministry of Education to ensure more equitable access to schooling.

But the Auckland Secondary Schools Principals' Association says a bigger question is how the government will enforce rules around out-of-zone enrolments.

Richard Dykes from Glendowie College is the association's president.
