Jurors will continue to hear this morning from a witness who says she was terrified during a date with the man accused of murdering the British backpacker Grace Millane.

On Monday - at the start of the second week of the trial - three women who had matched with the accused on Tinder were called to give evidence against him.

The 27-year-old, who has name suppression, denies murdering Ms Millane in his apartment after a date last December.

One of the young women called by the Crown told the court the accused suffocated her to a point where she thought she was going to die.

RNZ court reporter Anneke Smith is covering the trial.
