Hundreds of dead rats wash up on West Coast beach

From Morning Report, 7:44 am on 11 November 2019

Two dozen of the 600 dead rats that washed up on a West Coast beach will be sent to Palmerston North today for testing to find out what killed them.

The Department of Conservation is hoping toxicology tests, which will be carried out by Landcare Research and Massey University will give them a clear idea about how the deceased rodents got there.
