'Catastrophic' fire warning for New South Wales

The New South Wales Rural Fire Service has forecast 'catastrophic fire danger' for the Sydney and Hunter regions tomorrow, warning that lives and homes will be at risk.

Fires raged through New South Wales and Queensland on Friday and Saturday, destroying more than 150 homes and killing three people.

Peter Simpson in Nymboida, south-west of Grafton has described a bushfire that threatened his home as 'apocalyptic'.
