The managing director of the newly formed Wellington Electric Boat Building company says his first project is one of the most intense of his life.
The company's building the new 19-metre long ferry for East by West, which is due to enter service at the start of 2020 on the Wellington - Eastborne - Matiu/Somes Island route.
The managing director, Fraser Foote, told RNZ reporter Michael Cropp about the lengths they're going to keep weight down, and get the most out of the batteries.
