Whanganui Mayor Hamish McDouall responds to cat food factory closure

From Morning Report, 8:48 am on 6 November 2019

A Whanganui cat food factory is moving its operations to Thailand - costing the city 152 jobs.

Mars Petcare in the suburb of Castlecliff produces pouches which are then filled with cat food - but its sales have been steadily declining to the point where last year it signalled it might have to close its doors.

On Tuesday the factory's owner confirmed it would be closing next year. Whanganui's mayor Hamish McDouall speaks to Corin Dann.
