Former Air New Zealand chief executive Christopher Luxon was selected as the National Party's new candidate for Botany on Monday night.
The party sought a new candidate after sitting MP Jami-Lee Ross left National in October last year 2018 and became an Independent.
He tells Susie Ferguson he's put years of work into Botany and the locals know him. He's not going to say he's confident of winning the seat though.
"I don't take anything for granted and I wouldn't say that. That would be rather arrogant that's not my style."
