The convention centre fire continues to burn.

The fire at the Sky City Convention Centre is still burning this morning. Road closures are still in place and will be through the morning peak period. About 25 Fire and Emergency vehicles remain on the scene, and smoke is still billowing over the central city. People who work in the central city are being asked to work from home again if possible. Firefighters have been waiting for the roof to stop burning before they can go into the building. Counties Manukau area commander Geoff Purcell spoke to our reporter Matthew Theunissen at the scene last night.
