Convention centre continues to burn

The Sky City Convention centre is still burning this morning and it is not yet under control. Late last night firefighters abandoned efforts to battle a fire on an Auckland construction site from the rooftop, and have focussed on stopping it from spreading further below. There are concerns the roof may collapse. The fire broke out in the roof cavity of the SkyCity Convention Centre, which is under construction in Hobson Street, early yesterday in the afternoon. RNZ's Chen Liu is at the scene and says flames are still visible, and 21 appliances are fighting the fire.
