Police association concerned by escalation in Wairoa

Police say they had already ramped up their presence in Wairoa before the weekend's violence. A shotgun was fired through the front door of an officer's home on Saturday night, and then the police station was fired at on Sunday evening. Police Association president Chris Cahill told reporter Ben Strang it was a worrying escalation of tensions in the town.
