Winston Peters takes credit for tough new migrant rules
Winston Peters is taking the credit for pushing through tough new rules restricting the number of immigrants who can bring their parents here. The Government has brought back the parent visa category after National suspended it three years ago but it now has a significantly higher income threshold. Many migrants are furious saying it's a policy for the rich that has dashed their dreams of a real family life in this country. The New Zealand First leader told our political reporter Jo Moir it was his party that brought about the change.
